Louis Pinot Noir
Wine
Freycinet Louis Pinot Noir is sourced from the Louis Vineyard, planted in 1995. The site is adjacent to the winery's original 1979 amphitheatre vineyard on Tasmania's Freycinet Peninsula.
Made with similar techniques to the flagship Freycinet Pinot Noir, the fruit is picked fully ripened, then fermented in a rotary fermenter using a pure yeast culture. The temperature of the ferment peaks at 32°C.
After extracting colour, flavour and tannins from the skins, the wine is pressed to French oak barrels to mature for 12 months.
A soft crimson, Freycinet Louis Pinot Noir has red berry flavours, subtle oak and silky fine tannins, finishing long. Cellaring potential is seven years.
